The Archbishop, George Cardinal Pell, has a clear goal for the revitalisation of parish life and the active promotion of the Catholic faith within the archdioceses. CREDO embraces this mandate and has as its purpose to put the whole of the Archdiocese on a missionary footing. This is the single defining vision CREDO. It is the goal to have every agency, every activity and the work of each parish directed to the promotion of the Catholic faith and to actively seek to influence the society in which we live with our Catholic understanding of human life and human society.

CREDO is committed to realising the statement of Pope Paul VI, "The Church exists in order to evangelise" (EN n14). CREDO will act as an integral instrument of the Catholic Church in giving voice to the call of Christ to "repent and believe". CREDO is committed to securing the future health and vitality of the Church in the Archdiocese of Sydney by clear and practical support to the evangelizing mission of the Church.
